Nelson Radio Promotes Positive Fathering
During the week leading up to Father’s Day this year, more than 10,000 copies of a pamphlet called “Kids need Dads” were distributed in the Nelson and Tasman regions.
The pamphlets were funded and distributed by the Public Health Office and are based on a similar pamphlet which was written and distributed by an organisation called “Burnside” in Perth, Australia.
The local radio station featured Father Positive messages for the week leading up to Father’s Day.
As a result a diverse group has started meeting. The men had little in common to start with, apart from the fact that they were all fathers.
