Father and Child – BBQ/Event 16 December 6:00-8:00pm
Another year has passed and Christmas is coming. We know this means more fathers call and email us from around the country, sometimes coming in to our offices. This can be a really stressful time for some dads.
Last year we helped over 300 dads country wide from our bases in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. We delivered over 50 individual parenting and anger management courses. We represented Kiwi dads and our experience at the Infant Mental Health Conference held in Sydney October 2015.
With higher than usual numbers of dads needing support, we make special thanks to Mike Dawson MSW who has worked voluntarily for most of 2015. Mike has helped with phone calls, support work, client notes and our support group. We are extremely grateful.
If we could do more of the preventative work, informing expecting dads, getting in early and helping young families, reaching out to all the dads who contact us, we could help even more children enjoy balanced, happy childhoods.
If we are to continue the work and expand – we need help, more volunteers, more students, help telling our stories and successes, better fundraising outcomes and help with events.
If you or anyone you know is keen to support dads in Aotearoa, please let us know.
On Wednesday 16 December 6:00pm to 8:00pm, we will be hosting our end of year barbecue, It will also be our last Mauri Ora Support Group for the year.
All welcome, bring your family and friends.
We have enjoyed great turnouts over the years /2014/01/thanks-for-saving-the-dads-trust/#more-5250 so we hope to do better this year.
Our Offices in Auckland and Christchurch will close from 18 December 2015 until 5 January 2016.
Our first support group meeting next year will be 7:00-9:00pm on 20 January 2016.
Make every day Christmas with the love that you share and let everyone know..
That you really do care.
If you can’t see the kids on Christmas day make plans to celebrate….
On another, very special day.
We really appreciate your support – Good Dads Make Better Families
